Methodology
BasketWatch maintains the full product catalogue of Aldi Ireland, Tesco Ireland, SuperValu and Dunnes Stores, then refreshes price and promotion signals day over day where live retailer data is available. For each retailer we capture each SKU's shelf price, unit price, pack size, category and any active promotion (was-prices, Clubcard pricing, multibuy offers and validity windows).
- What counts as a "change": the same SKU, at the same retailer, with a different shelf price compared to the previous captured price.
- Ranking: by absolute % change. Equal weight to all four retailers.
- Excluded: short-lived placeholder prices, products that disappeared from the catalogue, and any SKU first seen in the comparison window (no previous price to compare).
- Currency: all prices in EUR, ex-VAT-inclusive shelf prices as displayed to consumers.
