How BasketWatch uses sources
BasketWatch is an independent price comparison and market information service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any retailer or brand. We record the prices, offers and product details that retailers publish on their websites and apps, and some nutrition and ingredient information from Open Food Facts, and we present facts such as prices and pack sizes so shoppers and businesses can compare them.
Retailer and brand names and trade marks belong to their owners. We use them only to identify whose prices or which product we are describing.
Some nutrition values and ingredient lists come from Open Food Facts, copyright Open Food Facts contributors, made available under the Open Database License. See openfoodfacts.org.
Raising a concern or asking us to remove something
If you are a retailer, a brand owner or another rightholder and you want us to change or remove something, or you do not want your material collected, email info@basketwatchireland.com with "Source notice" in the subject and tell us:
- who you are and the organisation you act for;
- the web pages, products or data you are referring to, with links or identifiers where you can;
- what you are asking for (for example, remove these product descriptions, stop collecting this source, or correct this price); and
- the basis for the request if it is a legal one (for example, copyright, database right, trade mark, or your site's terms of use).
We aim to acknowledge within 5 working days and to respond substantively within 20 working days. Where a request is clearly a rightholder asking us to stop using their own material, we will normally remove or stop collecting that material promptly while we consider the request, and confirm when we have.
Automated collection and reservations
We collect data by automated means at a modest rate. If your site's terms of use or a machine-readable signal reserve text and data mining or forbid automated access, tell us at the address above and we will address it.
Corrections
If a price or product detail looks wrong, anyone can tell us at info@basketwatchireland.com and we will check it against the source. Repairs we have made are listed on our Data notes page.
