Work out what you would pay
Every row in a response costs one credit. Responses that carry no rows, such as status and balance checks, are free.
Catalogue sizes are the live counts at the last daily refresh and move as retailers list and delist. They are here to size an order, not as a guarantee.

Every pack is the same €0.001 per record. Larger packs are a convenience, not a discount, because the rate is already flat.
3 · After you buy
Your credit meter
You never have to guess how many credits are left. Every response carries the running total in its headers, so your own code can track it as it goes, and you can check the balance here or from the API at any time. Checking is always free.

Buying
Is there a minimum or a maximum?
The minimum top-up is €49.99, which is 49,990 records. There is no maximum. Whatever you pay above the minimum converts at the same flat rate, so there is no ceiling to bump into and nothing to renegotiate as you scale.
Can I buy an amount that is not on the list?
Yes. Credits are granted in proportion to the amount paid, so any figure at or above the €49.99 minimum works out at the same €0.001 per record. Ask us for an invoice and we will set up a link for that amount.
How do I get a key?
Buying your first pack creates one and emails it to you. If you already have a key, a top-up lands on the same key automatically, provided you use the same email address at checkout.
Do you offer refunds?
Unused credits can be refunded within 14 days of purchase. Credits already spent on returned records cannot, since the data has been delivered.
What about VAT?
The price you see is the price you pay. BasketWatch is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged on top and none is shown on your invoice. If you are reclaiming costs, there is no VAT element to reclaim.
Using your credits
What counts as a record?
One row in a response. A catalogue call that returns 500 products costs 500 credits. A call that returns no rows at all, such as a status check or the meter lookup above, is free.
Do credits expire?
No. There is no monthly reset and nothing lapses. What you buy stays on the key until you spend it.
What happens if I run out mid-request?
The response is capped at the credits you have left rather than failing outright, and you are charged only for the rows actually returned. Once the balance is zero, calls that would return rows respond with an out-of-credit message instead.
How do I see how many credits I have left?
Three ways, and none of them costs you anything. Every metered response carries
X-Credits-Charged and X-Credits-Remaining headers, so your own code
can track the meter as it goes. GET /api/credits returns the balance plus a
ledger of recent activity. Or paste your key into the meter above.
The data
How fresh is the data?
The full catalogue is collected every morning, Irish time, and several retailers are re-checked later in the day to catch promotions that activate after the overnight run. Every row carries the snapshot date it was captured on.
Is there a free tier?
There is no free allowance of records. The public comparison tool and the sample responses in the API reference are free to browse, so you can see the shape of the data before buying anything.
Can I republish the data or build a comparison site on it?
Buying credits gives you access to query the API. It does not include the right to redistribute the data to the public or to resell it. If you want to publish it or build a consumer-facing product on it, that is a separate licence, so talk to us first.
Do you sell the underlying history in bulk?
Yes, and for large historical extracts it is usually worth talking to us rather than paying per record through the API. Get in touch.
